Walid Hanna – Managing Director

Walid’s thirteen years of experience include corporate finance, new venture development, and private equity. Prior to joining MEVP, he was the CEO of Dubai International Capital’s venture arm, the Arab Business Angels Network (ABAN), which manages two regional seed venture funds as well as a Business Angels network. Before ABAN, he was on the investment-management team of the leading Dubai-based investment firm, Abraaj Capital. Walid has also co-founded, invested in, or led several startups in Lebanon, spanning a range of industries, including technology, consumer finance, and hospitality. Walid is a member of the Lebanese Business Angels and a founding board member of the World Business Angels Association. He holds a Bachelor’s of Economics from McGill University (Canada), and a Master’s in Finance from Hautes Études Commerciales, H.E.C (France).


Tarek Sadi – Managing Director

Tarek has thirteen years of experience in corporate finance and direct investments, primarily with early stage companies in the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. Prior to MEVP, at the Emerging Market Private Equity fund of Dubai International Capital (DIC), he invested in growth companies in the Middle East and Asia; he, in tandem, served on the investment committee of DIC’s ABAN. Previously, he was a founding partner of Access Advisory, a London-based venture capital advisory firm, geared at principal investors, and he had worked with Merrill Lynch’s Mergers and Acquisitions team in London, focusing on the TMT sector. He also co-founded and exited two ventures in mobile content and automotive services, in Mexico. Tarek has a BS in Political Science and Economics from Georgetown University (USA), and an MBA from London Business School (England).


Maurice Al-Haddad – Analyst

Maurice has four years of experience in finance and accounting, business advisory and social entrepreneurship. Prior to joining MEVP, he was an Associate in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services at the global professional services firm Ernst & Young in Beirut. In his role at EY, Maurice led team audits for clients in a number of industries including retail, banking, manufacturing and technology. He also serves on the board of RootSpace, a local non-profit that works to promote social entrepreneurship and innovation within Lebanon and the region. Maurice holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the Lebanese American University (Lebanon).


Reem Bou Abdallah – Analyst

Reem has worked as a financial consultant in Lebanon. Her experience includes the valuation of a financial institution’s acquisition deal and the development of a stock option plan for a local banking corporation. Prior to that, Reem worked as an auditor and financial analyst in the investment management department at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) in Paris –mainly for leading banks and investment funds in France. She also completed internships at Merrill Lynch in the asset management department and HSBC in the financial accounting department. She holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), and an MBA –with a finance and strategy emphasis– from the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales, ESSEC (France).


Lina Jano Chami – Chief Accountant, Custodian

Lina started in 1997 as an accountant at one of the major ISP players in Lebanon then progressed to head the Finance & Accounting department of a regionally-leading IT firm, covering all budgeting, financial consolidation and analysis, and investor relations. This group eventually merged with two other firms to form a full-service business and IT Outsourcing provider, in which Lina was a key participant in the M&A transaction. Lina has an Accounting and Audit degree from CIT (Lebanon) and has received training on venture capital finance and administration by the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA).
