Hossam Shobokshi
Hossam Shobokshi chairs Alef United Holdings – an investment holding firm that invests across the private as well as public equity markets in the MENA as well as the developed markets.
Hossam was a founding partner and Chairman of Saray Capital – from 2014-2022- one of the leading value investment firms in the MENA region with focus on listed equities and commercial real estate in the MENA as well as developed markets.
Earlier, Hossam was Managing Director – Regional Head for MENA for Private Equity at Standard Chartered Bank based in Dubai, UAE.
Hossam is an independent and non-executive director on the board of J.P. Morgan Saudi Arabia Company a direct and wholly owned subsidiary of J.P. Morgan.
In addition- Hossam serves as the independent and non-executive director on the board of the Dubai, based Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP) - the MENA regions leading venture capital firm.
Hossam is an independent and non-executive director on the board of Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker, the Saudi based publicly listed leading white goods manufacturer (LG) and distributor (LG and other global brands) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Recently, Hossam has been appointed as a board member of Orascom Industrial Parks -formed in 1998- as one of the first private sector industrial real estate developers in Egypt.
Furthermore, Hossam founded and currently chairs AlThuraya Foundation, a UK registered charitable foundation that focuses on granting hope and opportunity to outstanding young individuals, building and developing the MENA region's prospects through scholarships in the world's most prestigious universities. http://althurayafoundation.org/
Hossam graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management (Honors), from the University of Pennsylvania –the Wharton School of Business.
In 2020,Hossam acquired the designation of Chartered Director from the Institute of Directors in the UK.
